In the McGaughey research group, we develop fundamental understanding of relationships between material properties and performance, and leverage that understanding to design separation processes for a circular water economy. Our approach integrates materials synthesis, characterization, and process analysis for sustainable water treatment, resource recovery, and environmental remediation.

We are part of the Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and the Center for Water and the Environment at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico (pictured above).
